The IX Madrid GO tournament is open to everyone. It will be held the 6th and 7th of May 2006. It is valid to qualify for the Spanish Championship.
It will take place in the Nam-Ban Club facilities: Círculo Catalán de Madrid, Plaza de España, 6. Madrid 28004, Spain (+34915416090).
Format
- Mc-Mahon system, 5 rounds. Bars at 2 dan (or more) and 20 kyu.
- 60 minutes per player per round, plus Canadian byoyomi (20 stones in 5 minutes).
- 6.5 komi
The IX Madrid GO tournament is valid to qualify for the Spanish Championship. It is open to all GO levels and to all nationalities.
Fees
- Normal: 26€
- Under 18: 15€
- Under 16 kyu: 15€
- Nam-Ban GO club member: 20€

- 10:30 - 11:00 h: Pairing
- 11:00 - 13:30 h: First round
- 13:30 - 16:00 h: Lunch break
- 16:00 - 18:30 h: Second round
- 18:30 - 21:00 h: Third round
Sunday, May the 7th
- 09:30 - 12:00 h: Forth round
- 12:00 - 14:30 h: Fifth round
- 14:30 h: Awarding ceremony and aperitif.
Prizes (not cumulative)
- Tournament winner: 400 €
- Second best: 220 €
- Best Spanish player: 180 €
- Players with 5 and 4 games won: Different gifts and cash prizes
- Best player under the bar: Cash prize
Lunch
Círculo Catalán de Madrid has a restaurant where lunch-menus and dinner-menus are available.
Accomodation
Place
There is a broad variety of hotels in Madrid. Nevertheless the organization has agreed special conditions in Albergue Juvenil Comunidad de Madrid, c/ Santa Cruz de Marcenado, 28. MADRID 28015 (subway stations “Argüelles” and “Plaza de España”).
Fare
- Under 26: 8,50€ a night.
- Older than 26: 12,84€ a night.

Send an email to and you will be answered. Please include the following information: full name, ID card, arrival date, departure date. Don´t forget to include a reference to “Torneo de GO de Madrid”. You can make a reservation for several people in a single email.
Observations
If you are interested, there is no time to lose! Please use prepaid as your way of payment. If you don´t, mind that you will have to pay before 17:00 the first day.
Rooms are shared. They are comfortable. There is no age limit. Breakfast is served too.
Please consider that Albergue’s admins won’t be there after 22:00.
