XIV Madrid Go Tournament

Place and Date

The XIV Madrid GO Tournament is open to everyone. It will be held the 7th and 8th of May 2011. It is valid to qualify for the Spanish Championship and for the Korea Prime Minister Cup.

It will take place in the Nam-Ban Club facilities: Círculo Catalán de Madrid, Plaza de España, 6. Madrid 28008, Spain (+34915416090): see map

Format

Mc-Mahon system, 5 rounds.
Japanese rules (see rules)
60 minutes per player per round, plus Canadian byoyomi (20 stones in 5 minutes). With digital clocks, players will have 3 byoyomi periods of 20 seconds.

The XIV Madrid GO tournament qualifies for the Spanish Championship and the Korea Prime Minister Cup. It is open to all Go levels and to all nationalities.

Other Activities

Kim Sung-Rae 8p will be present during the tournament. He is a Korean professional and the author autor of many go books, such us the series "Train like a Pro" or "Speed Baduk". His story is very uncommon among professionals: http://senseis.xmp.net/?KimSungRae.

There will be simultaneus games and a seminar on Friday, May 6th (10€ each, contact to register). He will also comment games during the tournament.

We all welcome him and hope he will have a memorable stay in Madrid.

Best Spanish player: Spanish representant for the Korea Prime Minister Cup (KPMC)
AEGO prize: Draw for AEGO members of a free registration in the next AEGO tournament
Círculo prize: Balloon trip for 2 people. Draw between NamBan members
Various prizes given by Alexandre Dinerchtein: one full membership for 1 month for the best player under bar and two room accesses for one month for the best single (1k - 9k) and double digit kyu (10k - 20k). Both subscriptions are for the Insei Ligue.

Notice

Attendance at the tournament involves the transfer of rights of image to Go Club Nam-Ban for a possible public communication by Internet of photographs taken at the event.
